What is a genetic disease?
A genetic disease is a health condition caused by a change in one or more genes or genetic material of an individual. These changes can be inherited from parents or can occur on their own over an individual’s lifetime. Genetic conditions can appear during a pregnancy, at birth or can even show up later in childhood or adulthood.
