Reproductive genetics
If you have an abnormal blood test or ultrasound report in pregnancy, or if you have a family history of proven or suspected genetic conditions, you or the baby might need a genetic test and can consult us at Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab.

Genetic Diseases in children
If your child is experiencing unexplained developmental delays, autism, seizures, or appears different from other children, genetic testing may provide insight. Additionally, conditions such as recurrent infections, short stature, heart or kidney problems, and vision or hearing issues could also have a genetic basis. Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Center has experts dealing with such cases.

Hereditary Cancers
If there is a history of cancer in several family members, multiple cancers in the same individual, rare types of cancer, or cancers diagnosed at a young age, you or your family may be at an increased risk for hereditary forms of cancer, and can take an appointment with Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab to get tested for it.

Family Planning
Infertility and recurrent abortions can be due to genetic causes. If you are married within the same family (cousin marriage, uncle-niece marriage etc) you can get genetic testing done to avoid risk of certain type of genetic diseases in your children. You can consult Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab in case of such concerns.

Preventive & Wellness Genomics
Genetic testing can help identify tailor made solutions for your genetic make up – like which medicines are better suited for you, how likely you are to develop certain diseases etc. You can consult Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab for a Genetic Counselling session, to discuss how such tests can help you.

Genetic Diseases in Adults
Genetic conditions can affect adults also. If there are unexplained neurological problems, muscle weakness, kidney, heart or liver problems, or family history of multiple members having similar issues, you can consult Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab, since you might need a genetic testing.

Dr Roshan Daniel, Founder
MBBS, MD Pediatrics, DM Medical Genetics, ECMGG (European Board Certified)
Post Graduate Diploma in Precision Oncology.
Clinical Geneticist and Head, Medical Genetics Department, KIMSHealth, Trivandrum
Medical Genetics Faculty, Doctutorials Medical Coaching Centre
Genetidoc Genetic Clinic and DNA Testing Lab was founded by Dr. Roshan Daniel with a vision to make reliable, high-quality genetic consultation and testing accessible across India. While the center has been established recently, the expertise behind it is built on years of dedicated clinical experience. The team has been actively working in the field of medical genetics for over 5 years, collectively handling more than 10,000 cases across a wide spectrum of genetic conditions.
Dr. Roshan Daniel is one of the leading medical geneticists in the country, based in Trivandrum, Kerala, and among the few qualified specialists in this field in the state. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Trivandrum, followed by MD in Pediatrics and DM in Medical Genetics from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He is one of the few European Board Certified Geneticists in India and the only one with a Postgraduate Diploma in Precision Oncology.
Currently heading the Department of Medical Genetics at KIMSHealth, he established Kerala’s first Rare Disease Clinic in the private sector and the state’s first Comprehensive Oncogenetics Clinic. He leads a team managing one of the country’s top hospital-based genomics laboratories, offering advanced technologies including NGS, MLPA, Sanger sequencing, RT-PCR, karyotyping, and FISH.
The foundation of Genetidoc was driven by an important gap observed in the current genetic testing landscape. Many laboratories focus on low-cost testing that may result in incomplete analysis, ambiguous reports, and lack of proper clinical interpretation. In several cases, reports are not reviewed by qualified genetic specialists, leading to confusion and potentially inappropriate clinical decisions.
At Genetidoc, all consultations and reporting are handled exclusively by qualified genetic doctors, and testing is conducted through leading NABL and CAP-accredited laboratories to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. Every report is supported by detailed in-house analysis, with a strong emphasis on helping patients clearly understand their results and take appropriate, informed decisions through comprehensive genetic counselling.
Dr. Roshan Daniel has authored multiple publications in reputed international journals and contributed a chapter on the genetics of developmental delay in children. His research on congenital anomalies in unborn babies highlights his expertise in reproductive genetics. He is also a recognized expert in hereditary cancers and precision oncology, actively leading Molecular Tumor Boards at the KIMSHealth Cancer Centre.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is genetic counseling?
In addition to evaluating a condition, genetic testing has its own pros and cons. Genetic counseling is a service where a trained geneticist helps you understand these in addition to the genetic conditions, test results, risks, and options for you and your family. It provides guidance on how genetics may affect health and reproductive decisions, and also helps with clearing your queries.
What does a genetic consultation involve?
A genetic consultation typically involves a detailed discussion of your family history, medical background, and any symptoms or concerns. The geneticist will aslo examine you and go through the records, if needed. Based on this information, genetic tests may be recommended.
What types of genetic tests are available?
We offer a wide range of genetic tests, including tests for hereditary cancers, genetic diseases in children and adults, reproductive genetic tests, and prenatal genetic testing. Most genetic tests available around the world have been made accessible at our center and are performed at our partnet NABL and CAP accredited labs.
Are genetic tests covered by insurance?
It depends on the insurance company, the plan you have chosen, the role of testing in care and admission status. Many health insurance policies cover genetic testing if it is medically necessary or if admitted. It’s best to check with your insurer for specific details regarding your plan.
Do I need a referral to see a geneticist?
At our center, we do not mandate the need for referral. If you think you might need a consultation, you are welcome to book an appointment with us.
How can I schedule a genetic consultation with Dr. Roshan Daniel?
You can schedule an appointment by calling the given phone number or booking a teleconsultation through our website.
What should I expect during a genetic test?
Genetic tests usually involve providing a sample of blood, saliva, or tissue. At our center, we almost always use a blood sample. The procedure is simple and non-invasive, and results typically take a few weeks to be processed.
How long does it take to get genetic test results?
Genetic test results typically take 1–4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the test and the type of condition being tested.
Can I have genetic testing done without a family history of genetic conditions?
Yes, even without a family history, genetic testing can be useful for identifying hidden genetic conditions or determining your risk for certain diseases based on your lifestyle or other factors. Usually we can perform couple carrier screen, pharmacogenomic testing and wellness genomics testsin such conditions.
