What is the difference between a genetic disease and a hereditary disease?
All hereditary diseases are genetic, but not all genetic diseases are hereditary. A hereditary disease is passed down from parent to child through genes. A genetic disease can also occur from a new, spontaneous gene change that was not inherited from either parent.
