Trivandrum, October 2025 – KIMSHEALTH Cancer Center has announced the launch of Kerala’s first Comprehensive Oncogenetics Clinic, a landmark initiative led by Dr. Roshan Daniel, one of India’s leading Clinical Geneticists.
This clinic marks a new era in cancer care by integrating genetic testing, counselling, and precision oncology within one coordinated framework.
A New Chapter in Cancer Care
While most cancers occur by chance, around 1 in 10 cancers are hereditary — caused by genetic changes passed down in families.
Recognizing this, the KIMSHEALTH Oncogenetics Clinic focuses on identifying individuals and families at increased risk and guiding them with early detection, targeted therapies, preventive interventions, and family-based screening.
Over the past year at KIMSHEALTH:
✅ More than 100 individuals were identified as being at hereditary cancer risk
✅ Family members received genetic counselling and clinical screening
✅ Two early-stage cancers were detected and successfully treated before symptoms developed — including a BRCA1-associated breast cancer and a VHL-related renal carcinoma

About Dr. Roshan Daniel
Dr. Roshan Daniel (MBBS, MD Pediatrics, DM Medical Genetics) is one of India’s foremost experts in Clinical and Cancer Genetics.
He serves as the Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at KIMSHEALTH, Trivandrum, and is actively involved in teaching postgraduate medical students at DocTutorials, where he simplifies complex genetics concepts for future doctors.
He is also the Founder of Genetidoc, a doctor-led initiative that provides advanced genetic consultations, curated testing services, and education in genomics.
